Hydraulic Jack Plate Installation Instructions

Important: Do not operate lift until installed!!

1.      Center lift on transom

2.      Clamp lift to transom

3.      Drill and Bolt to transom

4.      Pump installation: The pump mounts inside the boat in as dry an area as possible. Mount the unit securely in a vertical position with the motor up and the base of the reservoir sitting on the floor.

NOTE: It is very important that you hold fitting on side of the cylinder and not let it turn while you are tightening hose end on same.

5.      Connect long hydraulic hose to the bottom of the cylinder and to up-side of pump.

6.      Connect shorter hose to top of cylinder and down-side of pump.

7.      Control switch is provided to mount on control handle of outboard.

8.      The wiring is red to red, blue to blue, and green to green.

9.      Hook up wires of battery, red to positive and black to negative. If overload occurs, the pump has ambient breaker, which will reset itself automatically.

10.  Fill the reservoir with the jack plate in the down position to the max line on the reservoir (oil is provided). Run the plate up and down several times, then check reservoir and refill to max line again. (The oil that we use for the hydraulic jac plate is a 20 weight non detergent motor oil, 20w-20. You may also use a good grade light hydraulic oil).

Note: After several hours of use or if slide plate (bearing area) becomes dry, using the grease fittings located on each side of the plate, give each  fitting a couple of shots of preferably waterproof marine grade grease, while the plate is being moved up and down. Don’t over lubricate. This will probably be necessary only once or twice every six months and make for a trouble free operation.
