Often used by anglers for trolling, smaller outboard motors are becoming increasingly popular for auxiliary or emergency propulsion on larger boats.  Bob's Machine Shop, a major supplier of hydraulically operated jackplates for engines up to 300 hp, has just introduced its new kicker jack.  Mounted
on the transom, the jack provides the option of using an auxiliary outboard motor on nearly any boat....
