| Hydraulic Jack Plates |
| Q: What kind of fluid is in my jack plate’s hydraulic pump? A: Your jack plate’s hydraulic pump takes 20 weight (20w-20) non-detergent motor oil or a light weight hydraulic oil. |
| Q: What kind of grease do I use to properly maintain my jack
plate? A: Use waterproof marine grade grease, do not over-lubricate. |
| Q: What horse power motors can you hydraulic jack plates handle? A: Our 6 inch lightweight, 4 inch Ultra HD, 8 inch, and our 10 inch Max jack can handle up to 300 horsepower. Our 4 inch Ultra light can handle motors up to 115 horsepower. |
| Q: How do I determine the correct set back for my boat? A: For motors 40 horsepower to 115 we recommend the 4 inch ultra light. Our 6 inch jack plate is a good choice for most flats and bay boats. Our 4 inch heavy duty is good for boats with heavy 4 strokes, the Verado or for applications where the motor should be close to the transom. 8 and 10 inch jack plates are a good choice for bass boats or for boats that require more stern lift. It is always a good idea to ask your boat’s manufacturer which set back they recommend for your model boat. |
| Q: Does the jack plate come with everything I need to install it
on my boat? A: The jack plate comes with the hydraulic pump assembly, wiring harness, 7 feet of hydraulic hose, the control switch, and 2 quarts of hydraulic oil. You might want to consider the optional bolt kit to bolt your motor to the jack plate and the jack plate to the transom. |
| Q: Do I need the lift gauge? A: No, the lift gauge is an option. The gauge will let you know what the vertical height is. It is accurate up to a 1/4 of an inch. |
| Q: Why do you recommend a water pressure gauge with a jack
plate? A: We recommend a water pressure gauge on every boat with or with out a jack plate. A water pressure gauge monitors your water pressure to assure that you are getting adequate water pressure to your motor. |
| Q: What are the benefits of installing a jack plate? A: Installing a jack plate will help to improve your speed and performance, reduce your fuel consumption and allow you access to shallower water. |
| Q: What is the difference between your jack plate and other jack
plates on the market? A: Our jack plate is the lightest, the fastest, and the strongest on the market. Our jack plate is the only one with a life time warranty. |
| Q: How much weight does the jack plate add to my transom? A: Ultra light weighs 29 pounds, HD4 weighs 36 pounds, light weight 6 inch weighs 37 pounds, 10 inch max jack weighs 42 pounds. |
| Q: How fast can your jack plate lift my motor? A: Our jack plate will lift your engine a minimum of 7 ½ inches in around 8 seconds while under full power. |
| Manual Jack Plates |
| Q: How much does your manual jack plate weight? A: The 4 in 1 convertible manual jack weights 19 pounds |
| Nose Cones |
| Q: Does installing a nose cone or low water pick up void my
factory warranty? A: We recommend that you contact your boat dealer to find out. Warranties differ dealer to dealer. |
